A friendly, motivated, and experienced job placement professional to join our team in the Co-op Placement Specialist role. The ideal candidate will be a fast-learner, great communicator, and have strong knowledge about the Canadian job market and/or career advising. Excellent organizational skills, self-motivation, innovation, and exceptional communication skills are essential qualities for the candidate.
Job Summary:
The Co-op Placement Specialist will be responsible for conducting outreach activities to employers, so will need to have knowledge of work search strategies and practices. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is passionate about making connections and helping others find meaningful employment. The successful candidate may also be responsible for providing advice and guidance to students on job search strategies, resume writing, interviewing techniques, and other employment related topics.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with employers and other organizations to facilitate job placement; continuously build a reliable bank of employers for our co-op student placements.
Conduct research on job openings and labor market trends.
Regularly attend job fairs with VIC students and establish and communicate VIC profile with potential co-op hosts.
Assist co-op coordinator to support our international students in developing job search strategies, providing guidance on resume writing and interviewing techniques, providing career advising and guidance to students, and assisting students in developing job search strategies.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 1-6 months
Salary: From $23.00 per hour
