EQA is a quality assurance designation that identifies BC public and private post-secondary institutions that have met or exceeded provincial government recognized quality assurance standards and offer consumer protection.

Under BC’s Ministry of Post-Secondary Education & Future Skills, PTRIU oversees the Private Training Act. PTRIU is responsible for:

• Ensuring private institutions in Vancouver, Victoria, and across BC meet certification standards.
• Maintaining a directory of certified institutions and approved programs.
• Providing student protection, including access to the Student Tuition Protection Fund.

EduCanada is a brand that supports the international education offerings of Canada’s provinces and territories. It is a protected trademark of the Government of Canada resulting from collaboration between the Council of Ministers of Education and Global Affairs Canada.

BC TEAL provides a central meeting place and online community for EAL professionals throughout BC. Their goal is to advance the profession of teaching English as an additional language by facilitating professional development. The Queen TESOL Centre, located in Istanbul, was founded by English instructors. Their mission is to train ESL teachers using the latest tools and methodologies. They offer various programs, including TESOL, TESOL for Children, TESOL for Test Preparation, and Practical Teaching Skills.
