- 4-week Certificate program
- 26.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- In class: 4 weeks – 106 hours
Admission Requirements:
International Students must pass the Vancouver International College – Career Campus Entrance Interview AND provide one of the following:
- Completed TESOL, TESOL Advanced, TESOL Advanced Online, OR
- Any proven equivalent teacher training program certification
- Also required: A police record check (Schedule F) must be obtained prior to practicum.
Daily Schedule
- Monday to Thursday: 9 am – 3:30 pm
- Friday: 9:00 am – 2:30 pm
- Graduation Requirement: 70% average upon successful completion of all in-class courses and optional practicum.
Optional onsite studies & practicum
Practical experience working with children is invaluable and our 4-week placement provides it. Students can tailor their practical experience to the teaching placement type of their choice as we provide 4 different placement options (depending on availability and school closures).
Onsite Studies
- Full Time
- 16 days / 80 hours
- Monday to Friday 9:00am – 12:00pm and 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Practicum
- Full Time
- 4 days / 20 hours
- Monday to Friday 9:00am – 12:30pm and 1:30 – 3:00pm
TESOL for Children provides lots of in-class time to discuss and role-play concepts connected to cognitive development and classroom management, but those crucial factors of teaching children are magnified and clarified through experience with real children.

TESOL – TEACHER TRAINING
- Learn how to write a lesson plan and deliver a lesson
- Practice how to give clear instructions and constructive feedback to students, as well as to manage a classroom effectively
- Study and Practice ways to teach listening, speaking, reading and writing, lexis, phonology and grammar
- Make effective, professional-looking materials
TESOL For Children and TESOL for Teens & Adults are also available after completion of TESOL.
