LEADING THE WAY IN TEACHER TRAINING

TESOL for Children

TESOL for Children is a highly practical course that fully prepares its graduates for the challenging job of teaching English to children. This program builds on the skills developed in TESOL. All subjects are explored from the children’s perspective. After learning about physical, cognitive and emotional development, students can apply that knowledge to teaching topics such as reading, writing, and phonics. Also covered is the effective use of games, songs, chants, and drama, all the while motivating children for long-term learning. Graduates will be ready to effectively group students and to provide positive discipline in a wide variety of situations.

Upon course completion, students will be able to: plan and adjust lessons for specific target ages, manage classrooms and deal with behavioural issues, teach reading, writing and phonics, and use games, songs, chants and drama to teach English to children.

Graduates of the program will find career opportunities as teachers in private English academies, or as online English teachers or English tutors.
