Admission Criteria
International students must pass the Vancouver International College Entrance Interview, provide a completed TESOL, TESOL Advanced, TESOL Advanced Online, or equivalent teacher training certification, and obtain a police record check (Schedule F) before the practicum.
TESOL for Teens & Adults is a comprehensive 4-week program that enhances the core skills and knowledge gained in TESOL. It revisits and deepens topics such as listening, speaking, reading, writing, lexis, phonology, and grammar through extended practice.
The program also delves into experiential, hands-on, and discovery learning styles, and explores content-based instruction, including a science-fair prep module. It addresses classroom management tailored to teenage and adult learners. Additionally, the course includes a Cambridge TKT (Teacher Knowledge Test) component, equipping graduates with the confidence and readiness to take the exam.

Week 1
Week 1 introduces ‘Giving Instructions,’ explores ‘Characteristics of Adult Learners,’ ‘Classroom Management,’ and ‘Learning Styles,’ and culminates with ‘Speaking & Oral Error Correction’ and ‘Mini Lesson 1: Multicultural Awareness.’

Week 2
Week 2 covers ‘Visual Aids & Classroom Techniques’ and ‘Listening,’ leading to ‘Microteaching 1: Speaking,’ and concludes with ‘Lexis’ and ‘Quiz 2.’

Week 3
Week 3 focuses on ‘Vocabulary’ and includes ‘Mini Lesson 2: Teaching Lexis,’ delves into ‘Receptive Skills,’ and ends with ‘Microteaching 2: Listening.’
04.
Week 4
Week 4 involves ‘Writing’ and ‘Pronunciation,’ featuring ‘Microteaching 3: Writing’ and ‘Mini Lesson 3: Minimal Pairs,’ followed by ‘Assessment’ and ‘Tips for Better Teaching.’
