The EduCanada brand is the result of collaboration between the provinces and territories through the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC) and Global Affairs Canada. It is a protected trademark of the Government of Canada and is subject to a Master Licence Agreement between the parties.

BC TEAL provides a central meeting place and online community for EAL professionals throughout BC. BC TEAL’s goal is to advance the profession of teaching English as an additional language by facilitating professional development for all of BC TEAL members. The TESL Canada teacher training program recognition process was set up to ensure that teachers have access to a certain standard of teacher education in Canada. This is for the benefit of the entire field—ESL learners, teachers, employers, and programs. In addition, TESL Canada program recognition supports the TESL Canada professional certification process which ensures that applicants have taken teacher training programs that meet national professional standards.
